5. Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life
In the book, Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life by Wendy Mass, the idea of wanting to know the meaning of life plagues Jeremy Fink at the young age of twelve. This life-long question comes up when Jeremy receives a special box, as gift from father who passed away five years before, which apparently holds the answer to the meaning of life. Unfortunately the keys to open this one-of-a-kind box have been lost by the box's caretaker. So, in efforts to unlock and uncover the answer, Jeremy and Lizzy find themselves in some unique and life-changing experiences as their mission to unlock the box unravels.

4. The Alchemyst
The story begins with a young Andulasian shepherd boy Santiago sleeping under a sycamore on barren lands.
He sets out to locate treasure, which he dreamed was hidden in the dusty lands of Egyptian Pyramids. A Gypsy who interpreted his dream told him "I am not going to charge you anything now; But I want one-tenth of the treasure, if you find it". She added hat he must go to the Pyramids of Egypt to unearth the treasure. And thus he set out in quest for the treasure.

3. A Series of Unfortunate Events
“It’s not Disney,” explained one child upon being asked why he liked Lemony Snickett’s dark and dismal Series of Unfortunate Events. Kids seem to love this book series about the three Baudelaire children – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose parents died tragically in a fire and who spend most of their time trying to evade the evil Count Olaf, a master of disguises who plots to steal the orphan’s fortune. Violet is the oldest with a knack for inventing, Klaus the younger boy who loves to read and study, and Sunny, the baby with 4 exceptionally strong and sharp teeth.

2. We Were Liars
"June of the summer I was 15, my father ran off with some woman he loved more than us." Cadence Sinclair, the teenage narrator of We Were Liars, initially seems very familiar: quirky, perky, sentimental and charming, blessed with an unusual name and a neat turn of phrase, surely she's going to lead us on a tale of unrequited love studded with witty one-liners. And indeed she does, but her story soon descends into much murkier waters, eyeing its teenage protagonist with a twisted smile and a tragic sense of the pain wrought by selfish, self-absorbed adolescents.

1. Virals
This book is about Tory Brennan who is 14 and has just moved to South Carolina, to a small island where her father lives. He works at another island, where scientists are doing research. Most of the scientists also live on the island where Tory now lives and she befriends their children, three boys: Hiram, Shelton and Ben.
At the research island, where they have restricted admittance, they find an old soldier’s ID tag. They wonder how it got there and who it belongs to. To find out they break into several buildings at night and also discover a body buried on the research island. But when they tell their parents and the authorities, the body has been replaced by an ape skeleton and they are not believed.
